MANIFESTO
Welcome, Dear Reader, to The Midnight Library. We are an online bookstore on a venture to open an Old-World, Gothic-themed cafe and dark literature bookshop in the historic city of Los Angeles. Creating a tranquil space for slowing down over a cup of coffee and the parchment-scented pages of a book.
At present, we are curating a collection of books spanning horror, Gothic classics, fantasy, mystery, and dark romance which you can find at our storefront as we work toward a physical dwelling.
At the heart of The Midnight Library is the sole desire to keep human-made art, knowledge, and creation alive. We invite you, Dearest Reader, to join us on our quest.
From somewhere beyond,
Your Devoted Librarian

PHASE THREE: PHYSICAL STORE
The Midnight Library Cafe will feel like stepping into a mythical world— from vintage Gothic interiors, moody ambiance, a themed "brews and bites" menu, to a peaceful bookshop. This space will bring together those who share our ethos of human-made art, literature, and, of course, the darkly curious. In our early stages of development, we gratefully welcome donations toward a physical space for our community.

OUR VISION
THE LIBRARY
Atmospheric and hushed, walls lined with bookshelves, plush seating throughout…the Library ambiance will offer tranquility to immerse in a book off our shelves, study your latest subject, or work on a creative project. Books will be available for purchase so that you may take our literary spirits home.
Our collection will be dedicated exclusively to dark literature: horror, fantasy, mysteries, Gothic classics, dark romance, true crime, poetry, and the arts. Both new and preloved tomes will be available, as well as literature for adults, young adults, children, and bilingual language (Spanish).
CAFE
Our Victorian Gothic cafe will feature a themed “brews and bites” menu that will haunt your memory long after. Order a premium coffee brew or cozy cup of tea before entering the Library doors. You will also find a small storefront, housing the usual bookshop trinkets: parchments, reading journals, totes, and the like. Sourced locally and in support of minority-owned boutiques.
AFTER DARK
Evenings will transform The Midnight Library into a place of community-focused events. We look forward to hosting boutique markets, holiday galas, and author & artist collaborations. It is our wish to bring together like-minded individuals who share our ethos of art, literature, and culture. As well as provide a communal dwelling for those of us who enjoy the darker things in life year-round. Space rentals for professional filming and photography will also be available. Follow our newsletter for first looks and invitations.
